NABI celebrates Teachers Day
“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara.
Guru Sakshath Parambrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha.”
To mark the Birthday of great teacher Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Teacher’s Day was observed and celebrated at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute on September 05, 2019.
The function commenced with lighting of the lamp by Dr. S.L. Mehta, Former VC, MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan; Dr. Sudhanshu Vrati, Executive Director, RCB, Faridabad; Dr. Rajeev Varshney, Research Program Director, Grain Legumes & Director, Genomics Centre, ICRISAT, Hyderabad and Dr. T.R. Sharma, Executive Director, NABI.
Dr. T.R. Sharma, Executive Director, NABI welcomed the Guests and spoke about the significance of Teacher’s Day. Dr. Rajeev Varshney delivered the special lecture entitled “Plant Genomics: Past, Present and Future” followed by address from Chief Guest, Dr. S.L. Mehta. He shared the role of a teacher in a student’s life considering them the nation builders. Similarly, Dr. Sudhanshu Vrati, Guest of the Honour, expressed his gratitude towards a role of teacher in guiding student to achieve his goals.
Later, a formal welcome of the PhD students (second batch, session 2019-20) was also organized. Dr. S.L. Mehta, Dr. Sudhanshu Vrati, Dr. Rajeev Varshney and Dr. T.R. Sharma congratulated newly joined Ph.D students and wished them good luck for their studies.
A cake cutting ceremony was also arranged to celebrate the occasion. Dr. Siddharth Tiwari, Vice-President, Biotech Club delivered the vote of thanks.
