Mr. Arka Bhattacharya has been awarded the American Society of Microbiology Student and Postdoctoral Travel Award to participate in ASM Microbe 2026 to be held from June 4-7 2026 in Washington D C USA

Mr. Arka Bhattacharya, Senior Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Kanthi Kiran Kondepudi, Scientist, Healthy Gut Research Group, Food and Nutrition Biotechnology Division, BRIC-NABI, has been awarded the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) Student and Postdoctoral Travel Award to participate in ASM Microbe 2026, to be held from June 4–7, 2026, in Washington, D.C., USA.

As a part of this recognition, Mr. Arka will deliver an oral presentation entitled "Synbiotic bacterial consortium attenuates lipid dysregulation and inflammation in MASLD via gut–liver axis modulation" The award includes (i) 1,000 USD to assist with travel expenses and (ii) Complimentary registration for ASM Microbe 2026
